Allegro Non Troppo

About

Allegro Non Troppo is Joy 94.9's longest running show. The format is music based for the first hour with G&L community items being paramount, and the second hour is the community focus. Each week we look at issues and aspects that effects the Gay and Lesbian community.

The music format is light classical and contemporary classical and we have some favourites that we play frequently.

The Presenters are Addam Stobbs & Peter Fortey, the producer is Robert Brierley.

Allegro is unique in presentation style, and format, and the content is frequently confronting. Allegro has also received the most complaints and critical comment, not just because the show has been on a long time, but the presenters frequently engage in what appears to be vitriolic humour.

Addam Stobbs has been nominated for "bitch of the year" in the last 4 rainbow awards, but has never "won".

Allegro was nominated and won the 2005 CBAA "Can't get out of the car" award. This award refers to the quality of content and relevance that was broadcast on a community radio station in 2005.

Allegro also won this award again in 2007. In 2008 Allegro went onto the Community Radio Network, and has also been funded by the CBF to continue producing Allegro in 2009

There have been a lot of celebrities on Allegro over the years, but the real celebrities are the people who come in to talk about real life experiences and issues that effect all of our lives.

Addam, Peter and Robert would like to thank all of our guests over the year, and also the listener, to whom we present Allegro Non Troppo.

Radio is a personal medium and we present Allegro to one person, to you.
